Biography

A California native, I am from the San Francisco Bay Area. I have lived in CA most of my life, with a short stint in New Orleans for my undergraduate education. Within California, I have lived in LA, San Luis Obispo, and the Bay Area.

I have traveled throughout California, and have extensive field knowledge of the geology of this diverse and exciting state. Part of the reason I came back to CA is the nature of the rocks and landforms here – earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, and many other phenomena have shaped the California landscape and inspired me to pursue geology as a career.

Come take a geology class - you'll see how much fun geology can be. It’s interesting, exciting, inherently relevant to life in California, and did I mention interesting and exciting??
