From April 3 through May 24, I will be working on a special project involving the International Student Program here at SRJC.  You can continue to leave phone messages for me at 707.527.4693, and I will answer them as soon as possible.

For me, learning is my focus, not teaching. My job is to help my students learn.  I do this by forming a partnership with my students who are equal contributors in the learning process.  My greatest reward is watching my students grow and surpass my expectations.

In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I coordinate the programs listed below.
You can learn more about the program requirements on the SRJC Certificates and Majors  pages, and the Business Administration Department website.

Professional Areas of Interest

    "International Business and Globalization"

Technology and globalization are the two major forces changing the nature of business today.  It is fun to be able to include both of these in my professional endeavors.  I was the international president of
SIEC-ISBE , the International Society for Business Educators, from 2005-2009, and have attended conferences held in numerous countries.  Through my contacts in SIEC-ISBE, I have developed partnerships with other schools, one of them being SvenEriksonsgymnasiet in Boras, Sweden.  This Swedish Project  involves approximately 20 students from Sweden coming to California each spring to study for five weeks at SRJC and live with local host families.

My international experiences and opportunities are shared with my students who will live in a global society where they will use the technology to communicate and work with people around the world.

    "Technology and Online Education"

The new technologies and multitude of resources available on the Web enhance the instruction I provide and have empowered my students to learn far more than they would ever get from their textbooks and my lectures alone. The challenge of helping my students to learn how and when to use these new technologies is exciting.  Each semester I look forward to this journey with them.

    "Legal"

My career in business started in the legal field.  I continue my relationship with our local legal community by coordinating the Legal Office Support and Legal Secretary Certificate Programs and the new Paralegal Studies Major  which will allow our students an enhanced career ladder from legal office support to legal secretary to paralegal.  I maintain membership in Sonoma County Legal Secretaries Association and Legal Secretaries Incorporated and have invited my students to attend their meetings and conventions.  The network I have developed over the years has provided internships and job opportunities for our students.
