Biography

I am a fifth generation Californian and my academic interest is the study of California's Native cultures. I am trained as an archaeologist, and have worked throughout California, including on Santa Cruz Island, in Arizona, New Mexico, Illinois and Virginia. I have spent several years conducting archaeological research at Fort Ross, a multiethnic community that was part of the Russian Empire in the early 19th century. I really enjoy teaching college students! At SRJC, I have taught courses about Native American cultures, the Native cultures of California, introductory archaeology, biological anthropology and cultural anthropology, and Native American art.
