Biography
Along with my husband and three children, I travel to Italy frequently, particularly to visit my husband's family on the island of Sardinia. I have also traveled in Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Greece, Singapore, and Bali. My teaching experience includes Italian, art history, humanities, mythology, classics/ pagan culture, and comparative literature. Hobbies I most enjoy include traveling, painting, reading historical mysteries, watching our backyard chickens, and collecting antique/ vintage items. Non vedo l'ora di fare la tua conoscenza! Work and Consulting Experience
** A semester abroad teaching experience which took me to Florence! Spring 2010 was spent in the most beautiful Renaissance city in the world, with almost 100 students and three faculty colleagues from different Northern California community colleges. Check out www.santarosa.edu/sa for information about how YOU can participate in SRJC's Florence Study Abroad! ** Selection by the Department of Italian Studies at New York University and Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo` as a juror in the eighth edition of the Zerilli-Marimo`/City of Rome Prize for Italian Narrative. This is an international award enabling contemporary writers in Italian to be translated into English so that their works may enjoyed by a broader world audience. ** Ongoing participation as a guest reviewer and/or editor for various Italian language textbooks and online materials by the publishers of Ciao!, Avanti! and Percorsi. ** Faculty contributor to the "Customized Guided Tours" project, designed to electronically enhance student learning by users of Stokstad and Cothren's Art History textbook (Pearson Publishing). ** Frongia Freelancing, Translator, Interpreter, Writer, Tutor. Clients included Toro Irrigation International (product catalogs); Hunter Engineering (management correspondence with corporate headquarters in Italy); Riverside County Courts; private individuals. ** Univeristy of California Education Abroad Program/ Padua Center- Bilingual office assistant and coordinator of the reciprocity program (an exchange program for Italian faculty and university students).
