English as a Second Language

Welcome

Mission Statement

The English as a Second Language Department (ESL) at Santa Rosa Junior College prepares students to reach their academic and vocational goals. Our year-round programs serve approximately 2,500 day and evening students throughout Sonoma County.

New classes begin in August, January, and June. Our students come from many countries. Our services include placement testing, counseling, registration assistance, and academic instruction.

The ESL Department seeks to reflect and serve the needs of a growing and changing student population. It provides access to all college programs and services and prepares students to meet academic, vocational, and personal goals.
