Your success in college is very important to everyone at Santa Rosa Junior College. Placement tests will help determine the right place for you to begin your college career. The ESL Placement Test is used to be sure that you begin at the appropriate level. You can then progress successfully through the course levels you need to reach your goal. ESL testing sessions are scheduled before the beginning of each semester and summer session.
Students can apply for federal and state financial aid and SRJC scholarships. In addition to the general Doyle Scholarship, the following special ESL scholarships are available:
Student Health Services is open to all credit students. The Center provides physical and mental health services. Also, the Community Dental Health Clinic is available to everyone for a small fee.
Santa Rosa Junior College has two libraries: The Doyle Library on the Santa Rosa campus and the Mahoney Library on the Petaluma campus.
The SRJC Bookstore operates at both the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses. Textbooks for credit classes are available here. Dictionaries and all types of school supplies are also offered and all students are welcome.
You may use the computer labs when they are open for drop-ins, that is, when classes are not meeting there. However, you must know how to use the computer. The staff in these labs can help with small problems, but they cannot teach you how to use a computer.
In the Bertolini Student Center, you will find many services for students.
You can study for the GED (high school diploma) in the College Skills Department. These classes are offered in both English and Spanish.
