DISCIPLINES
Economics

The Economics Program offers courses in Principles of Macroeconomic Theory, Microeconomic Theory, The Global Economy, History of Economic Ideas, and Environmental Economics and Policy. All of these courses are transferable both to the University of California system and the California State University system. Students may also earn an associate in arts degree in Economics (see majors).

If you are interested in solving interpersonal conflicts of interest and coordinating productive activity in a world of scarce resources, then Economics is the major for you.

Economics is the study of how a society allocates finite resources to produce, trade, and consume final goods and services. Courses examine how markets and organizations allow individuals and societies to achieve their material goals. Economic analysis draws from history, philosophy, and mathematics.
