Milt Hoehn Mathematics Scholarship
Each year the Mathematics Department presents an award of $200 or more to a student at Santa Rosa Junior College. In order to be considered for the award, you must be a full-time student (12 or more units), and you must have completed Mathematics 1A by the end of the fall semester. In addition, your GPA in SRJC mathematics courses (numbered 1-49) and your GPA in all SRJC courses (numbered 1-49, exluding PE crouses) both must be 3.00 or above.
Selection of the winner is based on these criteria:
* Demonstration of scholarship in mathematics
* Demonstration of creativity and curiosity in mathematics
* Participation in mathematics outside the classroom
(department contests, independent study, homework reader, tutor, etc. )
* Number of mathematics courses and mathematics instructors at SRJC
Applications are available at the department office, Room 1717
Applications will be screened by a committee of department members. The committee will make its recommendation to he department, and the department will make the final decision by majority vote. The award will be presented at the Mathematics Deartment Awards Luncheon.
