Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) is widely acclaimed as one of the finest community colleges in California and the nation, offering a strong general education program for students planning to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, as well as over 150 occupational and career-training programs designed to prepare students for today's competitive workforce.
SRJC's Health Sciences students are well prepared to expand their education at four-year universities or to enter a variety of health professions. The success of SRJC's Health Sciences Department is, in part, the result of the strong partnership that has been forged between the Health Sciences Department and the local health-care industry.
SRJC's Health Sciences Department is supported by multiple community organizations in Sonoma County and the surrounding region that contribute to the program in many different ways, e.g., hosting students in the clinical requirements of their training or through financial contributions to increase program capacity.

SRJC's Dental Program has also established partnerships with the community. The College's Dental Hygiene Program is affiliated with the UCSF School of Dentistry. Moreover, St. Joseph's Dental Clinic and local dental offices host Dental Hygiene and Dental Assistant students for clinical experiences. Through donations from Sunrise Rotary, the College established a dental outreach program where dental students participate in a field clinic for students in the K-12 school system.
The health-care industry and other foundations have also provided financial support to the College for expansion of the Associate Degree Nursing Program to respond to the critical shortage of nurses in the community and across the state.
