Disability Resources Department

Adapted

The Adapted Physical Education (APE) program offers a variety of physical fitness classes that are modified to meet the needs of students with disabilities who could not otherwise benefit from Physical Education classes. Students participating in Adapted P.E. classes develop skills in using weight equipment and strength in swimming and movement that lead to the goal of participation in regular P.E. classes. Participation also supports students in their overall health supporting them in their general college participation.

NOTE: Students in APE who require a personal assistant must provide their own. SRJC does not provide personal assistants.
