Family Day: India Celebration: Celebrate Diwali with Music and Art ASIAN ART MUSEUM Chong-Moon Lee Center for Asian Art and Culture 200 Larkin Street • San Francisco, CA 94102 • 415.581.3500 11 am–4 pm FREE WITH MEMBERSHIP - I CAN MEET YOU THERE AND TAKE YOU IN The easiest, most economical way to get to the museum is public transit: Golden Gate Transit Bus Route 101 Celebrate Diwali, India's festival of lights, with music and art. Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated by performing traditional activities together with the family. Dynamic musical artist Ashwin Batish and his family will perform favorite old and new tunes, and teachers from the India Community Center in will Milpitas lead art-making activities. Performance: Ashwin Batish and Family 11:30 am and 2:00 pm (special interactive performance for ages 3-5 at 11:30 am) in Samsung Hall South Bay musician Batish and his family (including tabla prodigy Keshav Batish, and vocalist Meena Batish) perform festive up-tempo music celebrating Diwali. Art Activity 12:00 noon–4:00 pm in North Court Learn to write Hindi script and create a calligraphy work to take home with India Community Center teachers. Yoga for Kids 12:00 noon for ages 5-8; 3:00 pm for ages 3-5 in Education Studios; Space limited to 15, sign up at the Information Desk A fun yoga practice just for kids! Children ages 3–8 are introduced to poses that improve their motor skills and balance, encourage them to focus and follow simple directions, and have fun. Each session is 30 minutes long. Storytelling and Family Tours Storytelling Tours at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm (special pre-K tour at 11:00 am). Family Tours at 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. All tours meet near the Information Desk.
