Welcome to Distance Education at SRJC
The Distance Education office (formerly known as the CATE office) at Santa Rosa Junior College hosts SRJC's online classes as well as Web-based materials created for face-to-face classes by SRJC faculty. The Distance Ed office also assists faculty with creating and maintaining online classes and Web-based instructional materials, and DE provides information and resources for SRJC faculty and students who participate in Web-based teaching and learning.
Instructors can use the Moodle system and/or the CATE system for hosting their online classrooms. Students should be prepared to utilize both systems.
In all cases, we're sure you'll agree that Web-based classes are a great way to enhance your educational experience at SRJC!

Looking for your class website for the new semester? You can find links to all SRJC online classrooms via our Class Homepages link. However, keep in mind that most instructors don't open their sites until class actually begins, or just a day or two beforehand. If you still have difficulty finding your class pages, you can contact the instructor.
| SERVER DOWN TIME
At 3:05 am every morning the server will be unavailable for approximately fifteen minutes during our daily back-up procedures.
In addition, the hours between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on
Friday evenings are always
reserved for system maintenance. Most of the time this maintenance will not
affect use of the system by students and instructors, but occasionally there
will be a temporary outage during that period.
These interruptions apply to everything hosted on the server, including the
CATE and Moodle courseware management systems and all classes in both those
systems.
Please plan your online schedule accordingly. |
IT Department (Formerly Computing Services)
The CATE server (online.santarosa.edu) which hosts online class materials at SRJC is largely reliant on campus-wide resources
maintained by IT (such as the campus network, DNS, firewall, etc). For further information about campus-wide
infrastructure and services, the IT department makes the following available:
